The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department arrested two men in connection with the burglary at a Mountain Road home.
Deputies arrested 20-year-old Joshual Jaquez Caughman on charges that he broke into a home on Mountain Road near Chapin and stole three televisions, five Xbox and PlayStation 3 video game consoles, one bottle of Ciroc vodka, one bottle of Absolut vodka, 30 video games, video game controllers and other items, the report stated.
According to sheriff’s deputies, officers also obtained arrest warrants for 24-year-old Adrian Bowers, Jr. in connection with the burglary at the Mountain Road home.
The report said at about 12:41 p.m. on Monday Bowers and Caughman broke into the Mountain Road home in order to steal items from the residence.
Newberry County sheriff’s deputies arrested Bowers about one-half mile from the Mountain Road home on Ethel Drive in Newberry County and found on Bowers’ person an iPod device and prescription medication that had been reported stolen from the Mountain Road home, the report stated.
Deputies with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit and their K-9 police dog partners tracked Caughman through woods, where numerous items stolen from the Mountain Road home had been dumped, deputies say.
The report said K-9 deputies and their K-9 police dog partners found Caughman hiding under leaves and underbrush in woods off Nursery Road and arrested Caughman, who is on probation for a previous burglary conviction.
Caughman was being held on Tuesday, November 27 at the Lexington County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
Newberry County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Bowers a short time later, and found that he possessed marijuana.
Bowers was being held on Tuesday at the Newberry County Detention Center.
Deputies placed a detainer on Bowers with the Newberry County Detention Center and will serve Bowers with the arrest warrants when Bowers is released from the Newberry County Detention Center.
