Three people have been arrested in connection with the June 12th burglary of a Prosperity area gun dealership.

Deputies have charged 17-year-old Maleik Derquan Houseal, 25-year-old Chadrin Navatni Flemon and 16-year-old Kentrell Donrez Wicker with burglary 2nd degree.

Investigators were able to develop information that linked three young men from the area to the burglary through tips given to deputies.

According to Sheriff Foster, while this investigation was onging, Houseal was arrested by the Newberry Police Department on unrelated gun charges when he was found with a pistol stolen from an unrelated county case.

Based on the information received, at least two of the suspects had confessed to the burglary according to Foster.

On June 12, around 11:30 p.m., three suspects went to Bear Creek Firearms and gained entry by manipulating a window air conditioning unit to create a space for one of the suspects to enter, according sheriff’s deputies.

Once inside, the suspect attempted to enter the gun display cabinet, but was unable to because of the additional locks and safety measures taken on the weapons.

Deputies say that’s when the suspect inside the store set off the alarm and all three suspects fled the scene.

No weapons, ammunition, or any property were taken during the burglary.
