The Whitmire Police Department and Newberry Sheriff’s Office arrested three people on Tuesday for operating a meth lab.

According to Whitmire Police Department’s Chief Jeremiah Sinclair, after receiving an anonymous tip, around 3 p.m. a search warrant was issued at 120 Slayton Street.

As a result of the search warrant, officers arrested 39-year-old Terrell Boyter Trammell, 44-year-old John Allen Carr, 65-year-old Jack W. Martin Jr. and seized numerous items used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines, police say.

According to Sinclair, the trio is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine within the proximity of a park, manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of a minor child, and unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste.

Police say a Haz-Mat team was called to the scene, due to the hazards surrounding the meth lab, and roads were closed until 6 p.m.
