NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) - U.S. Reps. Mick Mulvaney and Jeff Duncan are holding a joint town hall in a county they both represent.
    
The congressmen are meeting voters starting at 6 p.m. on Monday at Community Hall in Newberry. An hour-long town hall meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.
    
The Republicans both represent voters in Newberry County.
    
Mulvaney's 5th District covers the area from Newberry to the east, while Duncan's 3rd District covers areas of the county west of Newberry.

On February 6, LGBTQ & allied students, adults, and organizations across the country are celebrating National Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Day. National GSA Day is a time to strengthen the bond between LGBT people and straight allies, and in particular recognize and honor student organizations called Gay-Straight Alliances. These student-led groups work to educate their peers to stop homophobia, transphobia, and bullying in schools and colleges throughout the country.

The Newberry Opera House welcomes John Michael Montgomery, a Kentucky-born artist whose personal contributions to the state of Kentucky have made him a candidate for the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a prestigious honor. This homegrown artist's love for music can be traced to his early years in the family band where he learned to play guitar from his father.
