The Newberry Opera House to host Canadian Brass | Arts & Culture

Experience an afternoon of technical brilliance with a flashy flair at the Newberry Opera House. Canadian Brass, known for performances that seamlessly combine their trademark wit and compelling virtuosity will perform Sunday, March 17, 3:00pm at the Newberry Opera House. This noted quintet is hailed as “the men who put brass music on the map.”

Canadian Brass easily ranks among the most famous brass ensembles in the world! The program will feature arrangements of favorites including Killer Tango as well as stunning Baroque compositions by J.S. Bach and Giovanni Gabrieli.

Canadian Brass remains one of the world’s most famous brass ensembles after over 40 years of performing and more than 100 albums to date. With an extensive touring schedule, Canadian Brass is a pioneering ensemble, bringing brass music to mass audiences everywhere. Their rousing recording of patriotic songs and marches, Stars & Stripes: Canadian Brass Salute, spent eight weeks in the Top 25 on the Billboard Classical Chart in 2010. Their most recent recording, Brahms on Brass, released in September and debuted at #15 in just its first week. The ensemble’s television appearances include The Tonight Show, Today, Entertainment Tonight, and Music Around the World.
